The Dolphins now hold the exclusive rights to Lemon, who didn't agree to offer sheets with any other teams before the NFL's Friday deadline for the signing of restricted free agents. Lemon was tendered a one-year, $1.3 million contract.

Lemon, projected as a backup, and Gibran Hamdan handled the quarterbacking duties during mini-camp while Daunte Culpepper remained sidelined with a knee injury. Although he also worked under new HC Cam Cameron when the two were in San Diego, Lemon's future in Miami remains tenuous and depends greatly on next weekend's draft and the team's ability to acquire Trent Green.
