Bryant, the former 49ers receiver arrested in November for reportedly racing an orange Lamborghini down Highway 101 at well over 100 miles per hour, is zooming toward his day in court. Bryant is set to be tried May 14 on charges of reckless driving and resisting arrest. The misdemeanor charges carry a possible sentence of up to a year in jail if Bryant is found guilty.

The incident occurred shortly before midnight on Nov. 19. Bryant, who became abusive towards police upon being stopped, was restrained before being placed under arrest. Following the incident, the National Football League suspended Bryant for four games, and on March 1, the 49ers released him from the team. So far, he's drawn little interest as a free agent.
