previously noted, Scout.com first reported the offer outlined above. However, it seems unlikely such an offer would be made without the Packers and Johnson having a long-term agreement already in place. And PFT editor Mike Florio, citing an unnamed league source, is advising readers no permission has been given for Johnson to talk to other teams. So, if any discussions have occurred, it would be an obvious violation of the tampering rules. ... As we noted in the previous item, there will be plenty of rumors leading up to Saturday morning; most will be shot down -- not that it makes them any less interesting.
