The Cowboys signed Polite to a one-year, $430,000 contract Thursday. He was an exclusive-rights free agent, meaning he couldn't sign with another club unless the Cowboys gave up his rights. Reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Polite, 25, played in 12 games last season. He rushed for 18 yards on seven carries and had two receptions for 21 yards. An undrafted rookie in 2004 out of Pittsburgh, has 12 career receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown and 26 rushing yards on nine carries.
