The Facts:
Entering the final season of his original five-year contract, Shaun Alexander is determined not to let impending negotiations for a contract extension distract him. Seahawks president Bob Whitsitt said the team is eager to re-sign the running back, but added no serious talks about an extension have taken place.

Bob Harris' View:
Could Seattle be crazy enough to let Alexander go after this season? Sure they have Maurice Morris as a back-up but c'mon now. Alexander hasn't missed a game in his career. More importantly, he's been one of the league's top runningbacks each of the last three seasons, compiling 3928 rushing yards and 44 TDs in that span. He's not old (only 26 years) and for those who think he doesn't like Seattle this is what he had to say, "I love Seattle, and I think Seattle loves me back. Seattle is home. For me, I just go out there and score touchdowns and help the team win." I expect Seahawks president Bob Whitsitt to re-sign their stud RB. In fact, Whitsitt already admitted he's eager to do just that.
