According to his
NFL.com scouting report, the 6-3, 266-pound Spencer compares to San Diego's Shaun Phillips. Both players were taught to attack the QB with quickness at Purdue; both lack the ideal size you look for in a DE, but Phillips proved that he was capable of competing in a stand-up position under then Chargers DC -- and now Cowboys HC -- Wade Phillips. Whatever the case, it's safe to say Dallas wanted Spencer. After trading out of the 1st round earlier, the Cowboys gave up 2nd, 3rd and 5th rounders this year to move back up and land him.
