The Facts:
Lions OC Mike Martz, in explaining why Johnson, the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, will learn his offense faster than Roy Williams, told reporters Saturday: "I think the biggest advantage with Calvin as opposed to Roy is that Calvin doesn't have to unlearn a system in the NFL. Our system is so diametrically opposed, or different, to what was done here in the past. It was a little bit of a struggle for Roy to change gears and terminology. That was hard for him. Calvin comes in without that issue of having to unlearn something, so to speak, with that terminology. I think from that aspect it should be easier for him."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That's a pleasant -- albeit seemingly optimistic assessment. Still, we do like Johnson, who Martz says will at the Z receiving spot held down by Mike Furrey last season. Williams and Johnson -- with Furrey and newcomer Shaun McDonald working off the bench -- would be a formidable receiving corps. Jon Kitna has to be estatic.
