Canidate tried out with the Cowboys last week but was not signed. The Cowboys said the workout was a "look-see" for the team and didn't rule out signing him in the future.

Canidate, a first-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2000, hasn't played since sustaining a foot injury in 2003. Canidate, 30, rushed for 1,095 yards and seven touchdowns in 46 games with St. Louis and Washington. He started 10 games and rushed for 600 yards for the Redskins in 2003.
