The Facts:
The Ravens matched the one-year, $3 million offer sheet Taylor signed last week with the Browns. The Ravens had until Wednesday to match the offer for free agent Taylor, the primary backup to Jamal Lewis, but opted to act Monday. The deal includes a $2 million base salary, a $1 million signing bonus and a pair of $100,000 incentive clauses. Taylor, a sixth-round pick in 2002, stepped up admirably, rushing for 714 yards and averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Although he would have battled Lee Suggs for the Browns' starting tailback job had he gone to Cleveland, Taylor is important to Baltimore. The Ravens are keen on making a playoff run this season, but have question marks at running back with Lewis and Musa Smith both coming off surgery -- both after missing multiple games due to injury last year.
