Burress and Jeremy Shockey have worked out with former Hurricane teammates in Miami in past offseasons -- most believe to the detriment of Manning and the passing attack. It's unclear if Shockey will join them -- OC Kevin Gilbride said he was "kind of optimistic" -- but as Daily News staffer Ralph Vacchiano suggested this morning, getting even one of them, after several years of pleading, would be an unexpected surprise. "No question if they were here it would help," Gilbride said.
