After visiting with the Giants and Falcons this week, Cundiff opted Friday to sign a one-year deal with Atlanta.

According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, part of the reason Cundiff picked the Falcons is the conditions in which he will be kicking. Atlanta will play 12 games indoors in 2007, with road games in Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina. The Giants post-Thanksgiving schedule includes three games in the Meadowlands, and games at Buffalo, at Philadelphia, and at Chicago. For a kicker on a one-year deal, Cundiff felt that Atlanta made more sense.
