The Facts:
Last spring, Rex Grossman called Currie the fastest wide receiver he ever has worked with. Bears fans never will know what Grossman was talking about after the team waived the perpetually injured former fifth-round draft pick Monday.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Currie came to the Bears in 2005 with a stress fracture in his left foot that he suffered while at Clemson, where he also was a track standout. Ultimately, he proved to have a track athlete's body, as well. He underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during training camp last summer, battled hamstring pulls and had another surgery on his left foot last October. Currie, who received a $230,000 signing bonus on a five-year contract, dressed for just one game in two seasons and did not have a catch.
