In addressing the ongoing dog-fighting story Vick has been associated with, Falcons owner Arthur Blank acknowledged that his team's star QB has reached a "crossroads" stage in his career. Blank said he personally told Vick in recent days that his behavior must change, and not just his words -- or else. "I would say Michael understands, and I told him he is in essence on a short leash," Blank said.

No pun intended, we're sure. ... Blank also said he recently urged Vick to break ties with either friends or family members who have been shown to not have his best interests in mind -- something Vick said he will do. The only question now seems to be whether he's acted soon enough. Stay tuned.
