Barlow is expected to battle Najeh Davenport for the No. 2 halfback job behind Willie Parker; Holmes is expected to earn the starting spot opposite Hines Ward. Both obviously need to avoid injury in order to meet those expectations. Fortunately, there's currently no reason to believe their respective injuries will be ongoing issues.
