The Facts:
Might Round 1 pick Brady Quinn be the Brown's sixth No. 1 quarterback in as many years, following Tim Couch, Kelly Holcomb, Jeff Garcia, Trent Dilfer and Charlie Frye? Not necessarily. According to HC Romeo Crennel, "Charlie has a leg up. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I'll also give Brady and [Derek] Anderson the opportunity to show what they can do."

Crennel went on to note: "The longer we let it drag out, the more the danger of spreading the reps too thin." As Repository staffer Steve Doerschuk suggested, even if Quinn is the MVP of the off-season sessions, there could be a snag if he holds out for more than a few days of training camp. He is allowed -- and wants -- to take part in OTAs. But after summer break, he can't get in training camp until he signs a contract.
