The Falcons on Monday re-signed the reserve quarterback to a one-year contract. Detmer will earn $765,000 if he makes the team.

Detmer, 37, joined the team last year, serving chiefly as a tutor for starting quarterback Michael Vick and backup Matt Schaub primarily because the 13-year veteran spent the 1998 season playing in a similar offense for San Francisco. He did not play in a game in 2004.
