The New York Giants acquired Tynes from the Chiefs on Tuesday for a conditional draft pick. The Giants had been shopping for a kicker since Jay Feely signed with the Miami Dolphins on March 8.

Tynes spent the last three seasons with the Chiefs and converted 78 percent of his field goals (68-of-87), including 6-of-11 from 50 yards or more. But his days with the Chiefs appeared to be numbered after the team drafted kicker Justin Medlock last month. Medlock made 70-of-88 field goals, including six from 50 yards or more, at UCLA.
