Seahawks Slow Dancing With Shaun Alexander
(3/29 1:56 PT)

The Facts:
New president of football operations Tim Ruskell isn't saying Alexander will be traded, as has been widely speculated after being designated as the team's franchise player. But he's not saying it won't happen, either. The club has given Alexander's agent permission to seek a trade for less than a first-round draft choice, but there has been no market. "Something's going to have to have to happen," Ruskell said. "There's just a dance going on now. It's a very slow dance."  Reported by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Look for that dance to last a while. NFL rules all but prevent teams from negotiating with franchise players until July 16. So at this point, without any trade interest, Alexander’s only real option is the obligatory one-year, $6.32 million offer that came with his franchise-player status. Stay tuned. ... More as developments warrant.
