Bryant, ineligible to play until Week 3 of the 2007 season while serving an NFL suspension, worked out for the Buccaneers Wednesday at the team complex. Bryant, 26, caught 40 passes for 733 yards and three touchdowns with the 49ers last season but was released in March.

He has has served half of a four-game suspension handed down Dec. 22 for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. With Joey Galloway turning 36 in November, the Bucs are looking for another speedy receiver who can stretch the field. Bryant’s average of 18.3 yards per catch in 2006 ranked second to Arizona’s Bryant Johnson among all players with at least 40 receptions.
