The Facts:
After weeks of watching film of the 2006 season, HC Kubiak kicked himself for rarely utilizing Walter. "I think what you're looking at right there is a player that earned the right to play," Kubiak said. "I went back and watched our film, and it felt like if I gave Kevin Walter more chances to make plays, we win a few more games. That's what he is."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As soon as the Texans released Eric Moulds prior to free agency, HC Gary Kubiak named Moulds' replacement. He didn't hesitate, and he didn't dismiss the question until training camp. Kubiak made it clear he wanted Walter as the No. 2 target for QB Matt Schaub. But Walter doesn't enter the starting lineup with credentials like Moulds'. Instead of four 1,000-yard seasons, Walter has just one in which he cracked 200.
