The Facts:
How's this for irony: on the same day Trent Green is finally traded to the Dolphins, the team's resident former Pro Bowl quarterback -- Culpepper -- said he has received clearance to return to the practice field starting today. After first getting the go-ahead from his surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, on Monday, Culpepper said in an e-mail that he got the green light from the Dolphins' doctors Tuesday.

As far as Green being traded to the Dolphins, Culpepper said he just wants a chance to win the job on the field, now that he is back on it. "My position on Trent is that the Dolphins should get the best players that they can and let them compete for the starting job," Culpepper said. ... Fat chance. The Dolphins are said to be looking for interested trading partners. Short of that, Culpepper is likely to be released.
