The Facts:
Culpepper was told Wednesday morning by the Dolphins that the team would like to trade him as it finalizes a deal to acquire Trent Green from the Chiefs. However, Culpepper said he would prefer to be released or allowed to compete for the starting job this season.

Culpepper added that he would continue to work out at the facility with the team and prepare himself for training camp -- wherever it may be. According to Yahoo! correspondent Jason Cole, trading Culpepper won't be easy. He is scheduled to earn $5.5 million in base salary this season and as a result would likely have to restructure his contract to accommodate a deal which gives him ultimate leverage over what happens. That brings up another problem: There aren't many teams looking for starting QB at this point in time. ... Stay tuned.
