Niners Won't Rush Decision On David Boston
(3/31 10:21 PT)

The Facts:
49ers head coach Mike Nolan has met extensively with Boston but wants to reflect on their discussions before deciding whether to sign the free-agent wide receiver with a troublesome past. "I was impressed with him and I think he was sincere," Nolan said Wednesday, a day after conferring with Boston at team headquarters. "For whatever reason, he might be a different guy now. He may have been humbled by some of the recent things that have happened to him."  Reported by the San Jose Mercury News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Nolan said he raised the steroid issue and other matters with Boston and was encouraged by his frank responses. "We talked about it, and he didn't shy away from the truth," the coach said. ... Boston is several weeks away from completing his rehabilitation and if he joins the team, it probably wouldn't happen until after the draft April 23-24, Nolan said.
