Chris Simms' Mechanics An Issue
(6/14 12:15 PT)

The Facts:
Simms' throwing mechanics are out of whack and they've been that way since Simms started favoring his midsection while throwing after last year's spleen surgery. He says the bad habits are the reason he's behind Jeff Garcia in the race for the starting QB job. "I'm just not throwing the ball the way I'd like to," Simms said. "But if I can correct that, I think I'll be fine." Reported by the Tampa Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
But Tribune staffer Roy Cummings suggests that Simms has fallen behind Garcia for reasons that are pretty much out of Simms' control. According to QB coach Paul Hackett, Garcia is still playing at the same high level he was last year, when he resuscitated the Eagles and led them to the playoffs. Hackett also noted that Garcia is a perfect fit in HC Jon Gruden's offense.
