The Facts:
Plan A for replacing Jim Finn at fullback is obviously Robert Douglas, the only other fullback on the roster. If that fails, OC Kevin Gilbride said Plan B is to convert Michael Matthews, a 6-4, 270-pound tight end.

Gilbride also conceded that they had considered Droughns in that role as another possible alternative. "We talked about it," Gilbride said. "But we'd like to stay away from that. ..." Probably not as much as Droughns would like them to stay away from that.
