The Chargers on Friday agreed to terms on a new contract with Manumaleuna. Financial terms were not disclosed. "Brandon's ability to contribute in both the run game and the passing game were key to our success in 2006," GM A.J. Smith said.

The new deal will keep the 27-year-old Manumaleuna in San Diego through the 2009 season. The seventh-year pro had 14 receptions for 91 yards and three touchdowns last season. His original contract was set to expire following the 2008 campaign.
