The local investigation into suspected dogfighting at Vick’s rural Surry County property should be done by the end of this week, Sheriff Harold Brown said on Monday. The county’s grand jury is scheduled to meet next Tuesday, when it could review the evidence and issue the first charges in the case surrounding Vick.

Authorities have been investigating possible dogfighting at Vick’s Surry County property since April, when a search there found more than 50 pit bulls and items associated with dogfighting.
