The Facts:
Falcons owner Arthur Blank said Tuesday he was "very disappointed" in Vick, and that the person indicted on federal dogfighting charges "is not the Michael Vick" I first met in 2001. Blank said he was in favor of suspending Vick for the first four games of the 2007 season, but relented when the NFL pushed for a temporary banishment from team activities.

As
previously reported, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ordered Vick to stay away from training camp on Monday. "Our preference was for the club to take action" said Blank, who added that after further review he agreed the league's decision "this was the best action. ..." When asked if he thought Vick would ever play for the Falcons again, Blank demurred. "These are charges at this point," said Blank. "We have to take due process into account. ..." In regards to the possibility of cutting Vick, GM Rich McKay said, "We discussed every option. ... This is the one we felt most comfortable with. ..." At least at this point. Stay tuned. The intensity level might diminish somewhat with Vick laying low, but the story isn't going away.
