The Facts:
According to Herald staffer Karen Guregian, seeing Maroney participate in both practice sessions yesterday, even if it was in a red non-contact jersey, easily was the most compelling sight of the day. Guregian went on to suggest that watching Maroney look more like a running back -- as opposed to the helmet-toting observer he was in mini-camp -- was the most important piece of news on Day 1.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
This after Maroney was limited to playing catch and throw balls with his left hand during June workouts, presumably because his surgically repaired right shoulder wasn't good enough to use. On Friday, Maroney took handoffs, popped the blocking sled with force, caught passes, and, instead of throwing balls with the opposite hand, he actually tossed a football with his right hand. ... It's a good start.
