HC Romeo Crennel said Frye leads the quarterback competition -- and he took the first-team reps Friday.

Although the consensus among observer following the team's final round of mini-camp workouts said that Derek Anderson appeared to be the most effective QB at the time, Crennel has maintained all along that Frye has a "leg up" on the competition. Of course, the longer that rookie Brady Quinn holds out, the less likely he'll be a factor in the competition. ... Stay tuned.
