Asked after Tuesday's practice whether Walter is still the Texans' No. 2 receiver, HC Gary Kubiak said: "No doubt, Kevin has won that job throughout the offseason, and he's continued to do that each day right here."

Kubiak went on to stress, however, that competition is ongoing with free-agent addition Keenan McCardell and rookie Jacoby Jones both in the mix with Walter, who lacks McCardell's experience and Jones' speed. ...
