The Lions have signed Johnson to a six-year contract. According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter the total value of the deal is $55.5 million with nearly $27.2 million in guarantees. The contract makes Johnson the highest-paid player in club history.

He arrived at the facility early this morning, the Lions’ medical staff gave him a quick look, he signed the contract about 8 a.m. and then he took the field for the team's first practice sessoin of the day. ... Johnson was the second overall pick of this year’s NFL draft and widely considered the best player in the draft.
