Perry is experiencing soreness in his hip and was in Nashville Friday to be examined by a specialist who helped him rehab from the injury last season.

Kelley Washington joined New England as a free agent this offseason and Chris Henry will miss the first eight games with an NFL suspension, so Perry becomes the likely red-zone third receiver, with Chatman getting the work between the 20-yard lines -- if they can stay healthy. Perry and Chatman each missed most of the 2006 season and the fact Perry is already having issues isn't a good sign.
