Donte' Stallworth Coming Off PUP Today
(8/6 10:24 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on a previous item. ... It appears Stallworth's stint on the physically unable to perform list, which the receiver said would end today with a return to full-speed practices, may have been somewhere between precautionary and imaginary. "I actually didn't even know I was on it until somebody from home called me," said Stallworth. "It's just what the coaches wanted to do, but everything is going well." Reported by the Boston Globe

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Stallworth is entering a very crowded field at wide receiver. The Patriots have 12 in camp. When Stallworth signed, New England hadn't traded for Randy Moss yet. The former Saints first-round pick was supposed to be the deep threat the team desperately needed. Stallworth averaged 19.1 yards per catch (38 receptions for 725 yards and five TDs) -- second best in the NFL -- last season with the Eagles. "Competition is always good for every position," said Stallworth. He'll find no shortage of that in New England.
