Chris Chambers To Plead Not Guilty To DWI
(8/15 12:38 PT)

The Facts:
Chambers will plead not guilty to driving while impaired, his lawyer said Wednesday. Attorney George Laughrun said Chambers will fight the charge stemming from his arrest July 14, when he was pulled over several miles south of downtown Charlotte. Reported by the Associated Press

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Chambers was also charged with reckless driving and speeding. A hearing on the case scheduled for Wednesday was postponed until Sept. 26. In case you missed it, Chambers was charged with DWI despite a blood-alcohol level of .06, below the legal limit of .08. Under stricter drunk driving laws in North Carolina, Chambers could still be convicted. Despite this issue, Chambers' overall record is said to be clean. Neither the league nor the Dolphins appear to have a desire to sanction him at this point.
