The Facts:
Holmes plans to practice today with the Chiefs if he receives medical clearance. If he is cleared, Holmes could play in Thursday night's preseason game against New Orleans. "It still might be next week as far as an actual game," Holmes said. "We'll see. I'm just excited to get back into it."

HC Herman Edwards offered this view of the situation: "I'm going to Mass early in the morning and I'm going to pray for him. He wants to practice. We had a good talk. He said that's what he wanted to do. I said, ‘Fine. ...'" Anybody else getting the impression Edwards wishes there were no such thing as Priest Holmes? Count me among those who believe Holmes won't be on the opening day roster -- assuming Larry Johnson's deal gets done before then.
