The Facts:
The Rams have made a one-year offer to free-agent quarterback Jamie Martin, but there's no deal yet. Both sides continue to talk about a contract that would bring him back to the team in 2005 in a reserve role. If Martin signs with the Rams, he would compete with second-year man Jeff Smoker for the No. 2 job behind Marc Bulger.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Martin has been part of the Rams for five of their 10 seasons in St. Louis. He was added to the roster last season after Bulger suffered a shoulder injury on Dec. 5. Two games later, Martin played the final three quarters at Arizona following Chris Chandler's meltdown, completing 16 of 30 passes for 188 yards.
