Ferguson, who was recently released by the Packers, watched the Vikings as they went through an afternoon workout at their indoor facility. Ferguson's agent, Brian Overstreet, confirmed that he has had talks with the Vikings about a contract for his client but said he didn't expect a deal to get done Sunday.

"We're not to that stage yet," Overstreet said. Ferguson, though, might run some routes so Vikings the coaching staff can get a feel of where he is at physically. Overstreet also said Ferguson plans to visit the Houston Texans and that the Vikings and Houston are his top choices. Ferguson is from Houston and has the chance to rejoin former Packers coach Mike Sherman, who is an assistant with the Texans.
