What everyone assumed is now official: Green, 37, will be the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback. HC Xam Cameron said this morning that he met Sunday night with the quarterbacks to announce his decision.

Despite the time and expense the organization spent during the off-season to acquire Green in trade from Kansas City, Cameron had maintained since training camp began last month that an open competition existed between Green and four-year pro Cleo Lemon. Cameron said he decided to name Green the starter to help develop the offense, which has scored only six first-half points in two pre-season games. "We're at the point where we need to starting putting this offense together," Cameron said. We're on board with that.
