The Facts:
The NLF issued the following statement regarding Vick: "We are aware of Michael Vick's decision to enter a guilty plea to the federal charges against him and accept responsibility for his conduct. We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons. We will conclude our own review under the league’s personal conduct policy as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have asked the Falcons to continue to refrain from taking action pending a decision by the commissioner."

In other words, the league has no qualms about calling Vick a liar. ... Meanwhile, NFL Network insider Adam Schefter reports that whatever suspension the league decides on won't run concurrently with a jail sentence. That being the case, Schefter suggests Vick won't play in the NFL again before the 2009 season. SI.com's Peter King pushes that date out even further -- to 2010. FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki went even further Monday, writing: "Vick's NFL career is over. ..." Much depends on how long Vick spends in jail (most believe the sentence will be 12-18 months) and how long he's suspended. ... More as developments warrant.
