The Facts:
Perry, who had surgery in January to repair a sports hernia that would require a second operation, is expected to be cleared by June at the earliest. If not then, he should be ready for the start of training camp in late July. "Hopefully, we'll stay on track with that timetable, and it will work out that way," he said Wednesday. Perry can not participate fully in the Bengals' offseason strength and conditioning program.

Perry had two carries for 1 yard as a rookie, and three receptions for 33 yards. He joins starter Rudi Johnson and third-down specialist Kenny Watson, who Tuesday signed a one-year tender as a restricted free agent, as returnees at running back from last season.
