Burress was declared inactive (along with TE Jeremy Shockey [hamstring]) for Saturday night's game against the Jets. He was listed as out with the flu, not any ankle woes.

The fact it was illness and not the ankles is probably a good thing, but the fact is Burress hasn't practiced much this month nor has he played a pre-season game yet. Nor will be play much next week; the team's starters aren't likely to be on the field long for the pre-season finale.
