HC Lane Kiffin said Saturday in a conference call with local media that he might be a week away from naming a starter after watching film of Friday night's win over the St. Louis Rams. He plans to watch every snap from the first three exhibition games of Daunte Culpepper, Josh McCown and Andrew Walter to aid in the process.

Kiffin said all three made good decisions against the Rams. He didn't rule out naming a starter soon but isn't in a hurry. We're going to take a couple of days on it and obviously go one way or the other," Kiffin said. The coach added that Culpepper, who signed with the Raiders on July 31, isn't playing as fast as McCown or Walter when it comes to running the offense because he hasn't been around as long. Still, Culpepper started against the Rams and he appears to be progressing sufficiently for us to continue ranking him as our top Oakland QB.
