Smith said yesterday he doesn't see any reason why he won't be ready to play on Sept. 9, when the Eagles and Packers open the regular season at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Smith hasn't played in a pre-season game and has only practiced a handful of times after undergoing spring sports hernia and then suffering a groin injury soon after returning to practice.
