The Facts:
Jones continues to improve from his calf strain and continues to do some light drills, but he won't be in a game again until the start of the regular season. HC Eric Mangini isn't worried about lack of practice time. "He's been through a lot of games," Mangini said. "We're pretty comfortable with the combination of his experience, what he's been doing in the meetings, and his ability to come back and contribute effectively."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Because Jones is coming off two straight seasons in which he gained more than 1,200 yards in each, Mangini said he doesn't expect the 29-year-old to be hurt by the inactivity when the Jets open against the Patriots on Sept. 9. We'll buy into that one, too -- as long as Jones is on the field. It's safe to say we'll be watching his status closely next week.
