The Facts:
There's talk among some league insiders that the New England Patriots are considering whether to release Moss. ... Seriously. Moss currently is listed as one of the starters at receiver, along with Donte' Stallworth. But Moss suffered a pulled hamstring several weeks ago and has seen only limited duty since then, opening the door for other wideouts to show what they can do.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Again, read the headline: "Rumor Time" is the operative phrase. Even PFT editor Mike Florio, whose stock in trade is rumors (and he does a fantastic job of managing them), "scoffed" when he heard it. Still, one of Florio's sources explained the question that Patriot officials are believed to be pondering is whether Moss will become a problem if he is not a focal point of the offense -- or if he isn't in the opening-day starting lineup. And as crazy as this rumor sounds, Florio noted that a rumor suggesting the Jags were about to part ways with Byron Leftwich would have sounded equally insane Friday morning. ... Bottom line? We don't think Moss is going anywhere, but the fact he hasn't played a down this summer and the Pats' well-stocked roster certainly make the rumor more interesting.
