The Facts:
HC Rod Marinelli said it was highly unlikely that running back Kevin Jones would play in the regular season opener against the Raiders, but refused to rule it out. Marinelli said Jones' status would be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to MLive.com's Tom Kowalski, Marinelli said the team's decision to take Jones off the PUP list was based on the fact that the surgeon who performed the Lisfranc surgery on Jones -- Dr. Robert Anderson -- said Jones was in no risk of re-injuring the foot. Marinelli acknowledged there were concerns about Jones suffering other compensation injuries as he returns to padded practices. ... While we don't believe Jones will be rushed back onto the field, the mere fact he's not opening the season on the PUP raises his stock.
