The Facts:
It appears the Raiders and their No. 1 pick are headed down the final stretch in their contract negotiations. FOXSports.com has learned Russell's representation is meeting with Raiders officials to try to finalize a deal for the last unsigned draft pick. It's expected that Russell will get somewhere in the $31 million in guaranteed money once he signs, but no agreement is yet in place.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The two sides hoped to have an agreement done by Labor Day, but Russell's ongoing holdout now threatens to go into the start of the season. In a USA Today report, Ray Russell, JaMarcus' uncle and adviser, said the Raiders "realize they have dropped the ball, and they started negotiating in good faith. They've done more talking in the last week and a half than the previous three months. It's almost done." Ray Russell added, speaking for all of us: "It's just a damn shame it's taken this long."
