The Facts:
HC Jon Gruden remains hopeful that Williams will be ready to play against the Saints Sunday, but is preparing for life without his star running back. Williams suffered bruised ribs in the Buccaneers' opening day defeat to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, and is listed as questionable for next week's game at this early stage. He is due to be further evaluated later on Monday and throughout the week. "If he can go, and the trainers feel he can go, he's gonna go," Gruden said. "We have to hope that he can."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
If Williams is forced to sit, Earnest Graham and Michael Pittman will figure as tailbacks with B.J. Askew as fullback, Gruden said. The injury will be a major frustration for Williams, who was looking to bounce back from a poor 2006 in which he finished with 798 yards and one touchdown.
