At this point, Derrick Ward appears to be the better play than Reuben Droughns for those looking to fill the void left by Jacobs' absence. Ward finished the game with 13 carries for 89 yards -- including a 44-yard run -- and four catches for 27 yards with a TD; Droughns carried once for 5 yards while lining up primarily at fullback. ... Droughns might be asked to do more with Jacobs out, but Ward was listed as Jacobs' backup heading into last night's game.
